Fall
This year feels like it has gone by so fast without much progress. We are already almost at the halfway point of September and when I look at the state of things on a personal level, much feels undone and unfinished.
Time is one thing that constantly marches on and I am unsure of how to make the most of it. This week, when I recap, as it is Sunday was filled with work Monday through Friday, gym a few days, and then an outing Friday with friends and that was it.
Saturday, I went out for food, had some delicious south Indian food at a restaurant near my apartment, and came home and was just well, at home. I do not feel any closer to society, I didn't engage in a hobby or do anything that I would consider super productive. I spent a bunch of time at work preparing for this week. I did study Japanese and have been slowly grinding wanikani. Progress there is slow but steady.
I think I studied every day this week which was nice. Oh, I also ate healthier this week, no chips or snack food, and I skipped a few meals. This is part of an effort to lose weight and improve my health. Currently, I am dealing with a wound on my side that is not healing. About a month ago, I had a wart of sorts frozen off and the resulting area continues to fester. It leaks yellow puss and I have some medicine that I put on it daily. I will go back to the doctor next Friday and get it looked at again. I think they will have to freeze the area again to remove the wart as the central part of the wound is black again which means that the initial removal was unsuccessful.
I also had a potential cancer spot on the side of my face checked out and it was negative, which is win; on the other hand one of my good friends in the US had her mother fail a mammogram and has to have a biopsy next Friday. Mixed news there I guess.
The world also is still slowly getting worse it seems. This was the 25th anniversary of 9/11 today and I cannot say that we are safer or better or improved at all. It feels like society is slowly getting more bleak and hopeless. Maybe this is part of growing old, I do not know and I do not have the motivation to think on it, but it is something that I would be curious to learn.
Today I am going to Nagoya. I brought my camera with and will make an effort to take photos each night. I am not sure of what, but I will at least use it some.
