Work Stress
I am part of a remote outpost at the moment and my exact integration or support with the main home team is unclear.
I also have no support from the remote team, as they do not want to deal with the complex customer use case. This means I have to learn an item which I did not create for a process I do not own and provide a response that I cannot back up.
This isn't a situation that I like. It stresses me and I do not have anyone to really discuss it with. The remote team here is small and I am the only domain expert in this area. I can at least use the internet to vent on it (hence this blog post) and I can take time to go to the gym.
I went to the gym today (I try and go three days a week) and was unable to focus due to the work item. It's remarkably hard to lift weights when your head is not in the game. I know it impacted the amount I could lift and my ability to stretch or use my muscles. I think that my trainer was quite annoyed with my performance this visit. If it wasn't hot out, I would have gone running or done a hobby, but sometimes I wish that a brain was like a power circuit. Something you could flip a switch and turn off, but alas that is not the case, and I likely will focus on this for some days.
The other issue, the lack of support from the main office needs to get sorted. I do not want to deal with this constantly and will find another job if this continues to be that way.
