The premise

When you are young, you have dreams. As you grow older, reality sets in and you get lost in the daily race of survival the dreams all fade away. However, if you make a list of things, or set a goal to accomplish something, then you can slowly make progress on it over time.

There are things that help (with accomplishing the goals):

  1. Make the goals public.
  2. Have serious and fun mixed in together.
  3. Do not be afraid of undefined goals.
  4. Document your progress (this blog).
  5. Chunk things into manageable bites. Do not bite off more than you can chew.
  6. Have completion criteria. You may not know how you get somewhere, but you should know when you arrive.
  7. Prioritize. All things are not equal.
  8. Limit scope of what you work on (see #5).
  9. Review progress on a regular basis (see #4).
  10. Do not be afraid to revise, change, or even strike a goal. Failure, while not optimal, will happen and you should not fear it.

The above framework should provide sufficient guardrails for you to make progress. I am going to validate it in real time.
